What does it take to have faith in God?

We all must have heard about faith at some point in our life. We are constantly told to have faith and hold on to what we believe. But what exactly do we mean by faith? Faith is something which we can hold on to even when things around us seems impossible. Faith is about trusting the God who has promised you great things even when nothing around makes sense. We, humans, are always confused, and we associate our outcomes based on our current situations. But the God we believe in is capable of providing us more than what we need.

Faith as small as a mustard seed:

In the Bible, we read about how you can move a mountain with faith as small as a mustard seed. Now the above sentence confuses many people as in today’s world we can’t exactly relate to mountains. So instead of taking the literal meaning, let’s see what God was trying to tell us. The mountains symbolise the burdens in our life. It can be a test you have to pass or a job interview or even mending a broken relationship.

We all can have different mountains in our lives, and God says all you need is faith as small as a mustard seed to mend broken families, to heal wounds, to get you that promotion you wanted to badly. Faith is more of a trust that you have in God that he will be able to do anything for you according to his riches and glory.

The blood of Christ:

When Jesus Christ died on the cross, he shed his blood to cleanse our sins so that we will not have to die for our sins. Whoever believes in Christ and accepts him as his/ her personal saviour and becomes a child of God. As children of God, we have all the rights to call God our father and since we are his children we are granted the gift of life and thus God expects us to have faith in him even for the slightest thing.

Faith is not something you see. Anyone can believe something if they can see it, faith is something which you believe even when you cannot see it. The same applies to the belief in God. Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose on the third day, and though we don’t see him, we choose to trust and believe in him as we have faith in him.

Life can be tough and unfair sometimes, but when you put your trust in God, you know that he has the best for you even when everything around you may be sinking sand. When you have a relationship with God, you will have the ability to trust in him and believe his paths even when everything may seem like its falling apart. So have a little faith and see the wonders God can do for you in your life.
