Lay Ministry

Servers

An acolyte is a person assisting a priest in a service or procession and the word comes from the Greek akolouthos, meaning follower. Today we often simply call the acolyte a server. Servers assist the in the celebration of our services. They may be male or female, and young or older. For more information on our Server and Acolyte ministry, contact Dorothy Deville through the church office.

Greeters and Sides Persons

Greeters and Sides Persons welcome all our parishioners to the Sunday Services. Their responsibilities include greeting all who enter the church, ensuring that everyone has a bulletin, welcoming new parishioners, arranging for someone to take up the Eucharistic gifts, collecting monetary gifts during offertory, ushering during communion, ensuring the books are back in the pews, and collecting any lost and found items at the end of the service. For more information on our Greeters and Sides Persons Ministry, contact Linda Lucek through the church office.

Sanctuary Guild

Our mission is to affirm our belief in God and to serve him through preparing the sanctuary for Holy Eucharist and other celebrations. This mission requires approximately one to two hours each Saturday and clean-up after the last service on Sunday every four to six weeks. For special services, including weddings, funerals, baptisms, and special feasts, there may be a need for an extra hour. For more information on our Sanctuary ministry, contact Marnie Forsyth through the church office.

Communion Administrants

Communion Administrants are those people who administer Holy Eucharist during services. Each group of four usually administers Holy Eucharist once a month. There is no greater honour than to assist in giving Holy Eucharist to your fellow parishioners. For more information on our Communion Administrants ministry, contact Lynn Burtch through the church office.
